10 Dining Suggestions for Valentine's Day 2014

Many offer menus good for the whole weekend

Everyone knows at the heart of Valentine’s Day is a good meal.

With that in mind, take a look at these 10 dining suggestions for Feb. 14 in the greater Palm Springs area.

In no particular order:

Figue Mediterranean in La Quinta: A special menu will be available Feb. 14-16, taking diners through a romantic culinary tour of Venice, Italy. Start with Cassanova’s Raw Oysters (see photo at right), proceed to Involtini of Jidori Chicken, and a Citrus Tiramisu.

Cuistot Restaurant in Palm Desert: For $79.50 per person, choose from a first course of Bernard’s Famous Cesar Salad with Gran Padano or Fresh Asparagus Bisque, entrees like Roasted Beef New York Sirloin or Lobster and Asparagus Lemon Risotto, or topped by the dessert of Chocolate Tarte with fresh raspberries and Shortbread Heart cookie and raspberry sauce.

Sullivan’s Steakhouse in Palm Desert:  Executive Chef Kevin Favinger is offering a three-course fixe menu for $99 for two with options like Lobster Basil Stuffed Shrimp, Triple-Cut Lamb Chop, and Chocolate Mousse and Berries.

3rd Corner Wine Shop and Bistro in Palm Desert: The one-night only menu includes a glass of “J” Sparkling for $5. Look at starters like Mushroom Tart. A second course o 3rd Corner Beef Bourguignon or Lobster Ravioli, and Classic Crème Brulee for dessert plus a chocolate-covered strawberry to go.

Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs: At the Sessions Restaurant, go for NY Steak Frites and Maryland Crab Cakes, Waldorf Salad, Creamed Baby Argula, and a special “da bomb” chocolate dessert. Just the meal, $50 per couple; $60 with dessert and $75 with the meal, dessert, and specialty drink.

Spotlight 29 Casino in Coachella: Plenty of choices, including a four-course meal at the JEM Steakhouse for $125 per couple and a bottle of champagne. The Valentine’s Day Buffet at Café Capitata is $21.95 per person and offers a roasted asparagus salad with pancetta, entrees like snow crab legs, grilled salmon in lobster, and satisfy your sweet tooth at the dessert bar.

Riviera Palm Springs: The Chef’s prix fixe menu offers Argula & Pear Salad, Cane Sugared Seared Ahi Tuna or Braised Lamb Shank, and Chocolate Fondue for two.

Trio in Palm Springs: A $49 per person prix fix menu includes starters like Seared Scallops or Crab and Lobster Bisque; main dishes of New Zealand Lamb Rack or Chilean Sea Bass over Butter Nut Squash, and Strawberry Cream with Chocolate Drizzle for dessert.

Citron at The Viceroy: Running all weekend, this Valentine’s four-course prix fixe menu is served with a complimentary Kir Royale, Oysters and Pearls and Alaskan Crab Parfait for an appetizer, main course of Roasted Lobster & Diver Scallops, and Cherry Tartlet for dessert.

Vicky’s of Santa Fe in Indian Wells: A full package of drinks, dinner, music and dancing. The prix fixe menu at $45 per person offers appetizers like BLT Wedge or Poached Pear Salad, entrees like Grilled Country Pork Chop or Salmon, and dessert choices like Cheese Cake with fresh Seasonal Berries or Snicker bar pie.
