The Palm Springs Walk of Stars celebrated its 25th Anniversary and honored 400 star recipients at the Third Annual Celebration of the Stars Oct. 30 at the spectacular Spencer’s Bougainvillea Room in Palm Springs.
Palm Springs mayor Robert Moon made it an official day by accepting and reading a proclamation issued by Riverside County Supervisor John Benoit.
The entertainment rocked with seven of the entertainers, whose names are on the Walk of Stars, volunteering to perform in a jam-session style show. The lineup included Trini Lopez, Darci Daniel, Mark Guerrero, Roberta Linn, Dan Westfall and Bill Marx.
Popular local artist and entertainer Jim “Fitz” Fitzgerald served as emcee of the show, and the ever popular Gand Band more than lived up to its name.
Among the Walk of Stars staff and board were president Robert Alexander, board secretary and event chair Kathleen Bennett, Janie Hughes, Bill Beck, Kevin Halladay and Teresa Velazquez, who served as event administrator.
