David Woods
PGA Director of Golf, The Vintage Club
Age: 39
Golf professional David Woods refers to his position as PGA director of golf at The Vintage Club in Indian Wells as his dream job.
“On a daily basis, I have the great fortune to be surrounded by some of the most dynamic and kind people,” Woods says. “The second-best job [in my golfing career] was coaching Masters champion Mike Weir. As a Canadian, it was an honor and privilege to help the best Canadian player in history.”
The father of two young children and husband to Heather Woods, a pharmacist, Woods is motivated by his desire to enhance and advance the game of golf.
In fact, last year he and three members of The Vintage Club played a nearly record-breaking four rounds of golf in four time zones in one day, thanks to lots of strategic planning by Woods.
“We walked all 72 holes,” he says. “We walked a total of 23.4 miles of golf course and were awake 23 straight hours.”
Now that’s dedication to the game.
