Agua Serena Spa Delivers Full Wellness Package

Facial provides perfect combination of education, relaxation

A better description for the Agua Serena Spa at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort and Spa based upon its offerings would be a “wellness facility”.

The flowing water throughout the property accompanied by the desert mountains makes it a wonderful destination and local spa all in one location.

I was amazed at the wide range of facilities and treatments. Beyond the spa, which includes a spa lounge (inside and out), there are showers (inside and out), a eucalyptus steam room, and dry sauna, a hair salon, a medical and skin spa, yoga and pilates studio and a full gym equipped with trainers.

My first treatment of the day was the Serena Skin Specifics Facial (pictured below). Steaming, extractions, and a relaxing scalp massage were just some of the perks to my amazing facial.

So often I go for facials and either it is too technical, seemed like a tutorial about skin care along with painful extractions or feels like an esthetician is basically just rubbing products on my face and then removing them with a warm towel over and over again.

Not this time. It was a perfect combination of education and relaxation. The eco-certified ingredients used in their product line had a great aroma and my esthetician Tsege made sure to explain all of the products and treatment.

She customized all steps of the facial to my skin’s individual needs. Her information and kind explanation served for a relaxing and productive facial. Two days later my skin was glowing.

I had an abundance of time throughout the day to use all the facilities that they had to offer, including the outdoor lounge area where I enjoyed my lunch off the spa menu.

The spa menu is an underrated aspect. I often have gone to spas and been offered a choice of food to indulge in, but the majority of the time it can be glutinous. Who wants to erase everything you did in a body wrap by eating mac and cheese?

It doesn’t really make sense. Thankfully the Agua Serena Spa had some wonderful options. I choose a seared ahi tuna salad to accompany my “wellness “ day; it was tasty, enjoyable as well as healthy.

On to my next treatment – an Agave Nectar wrap.

“Agave Nectar has wonderful healing and soothing properties, which are great for the desert climate,” explains Rachel, my therapist Rachel.

Dry brushing, wrap, and mask were combined to make this a fresh feeling nap. I love wraps. They always feel like you just had a refreshing shower.
