Happy Incorporation Day!

The record indicates that Palm Springs, a city of the sixth class, was incorporated on April 20, 1938 with a population of 1,780. Philip Boyd was the first mayor.

Today, the population has grown to approximately 45,000 (42,807 in the 2000 census), and Ronald Oden is the mayor.
