Desert Hot Springs High School is the home of the Golden Eagles. In fact, it says so, right on their website. The eagle is a wholesome, all-American mascot. Go DHSHS. Rah. Rah.

La Quinta HS also favors the avian category: go Blackhawks.

Cathedral City High School's site welcomes us to Lion Country. I must say that I was quite impressed, and even a tiny bit scared. Go Lions.

The students at Palm Springs High call themselves Indians, presumably in tribute to the Cahuilla tribal lands which surround them. Go PSHS.

Palm Desert HS delved into the history books, to come up with its own Indian homage: go Aztecs.

Before going any further with high schools, check out the post-secondary mascots around here: the CoD Roadrunners, the CSUSB Coyotes and the UCR... Highlanders? Eh?

As for the Indio HS Rajahs and the Coachella Valley HS Arabs, well, let's just say we admire their spunk.
