Tonight: At 7:30 and 9:30pm, catch the Concert Series at
Peter's, featuring "So It's Spring — So What?"
That kind of enthusiasm is darn infectious.
Friday:
Desert Youth Ballet presents "The Seasons" at the
Performing Arts Building in Rancho Mirage, 7pm.
Tights and tutus are necessary and sufficient prerequisites for an evening of civility and culture.
Saturday morning:
Desert AIDS Project invites the community to join their Architectural Tour, 10am-5:30pm. [Call 323-2118] "Spend a day touring some of the most beautiful, interesting and unique homes in the desert while enjoying a luxury coach transport and skilled guide. Homes on the tour will range from post-modernist to very colorful, one-of-a-kind manufactured (mobile) homes."
Trailer park? Did someone say TRAILER park?! I'm so THERE!!
Saturday afternoon: Holy Fifties, Batman! It's a
Retro UFO Space Convention at the world-famous
Integratron in
Landers!! Many events are scheduled, from
early morning to late evening.
"The Integratron is an acoustically perfect tabernacle and energy machine sited on a powerful geomagnetic vortex in the magical Mojave Desert." I think that pretty much says it all.
Saturday evening: At 7pm,
"Scott Record, singing, comedy impressionist extraordinaire, hits the Fantasy Lounge".
Let's hope the Fantasy Lounge doesn't hit back.
Sunday: The second day of the
Coachella Music and Arts Festival: Madonna, Tool, Massive Attack, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Paul Oakenfold, etc. (1st day: Depeche Mode, Daft Punk, Franz Ferdinand, Sigur Rós.) Gates open at 11am.
Light me up...
