Palm Springs, California (April 14, 2008) The names define Glenda Guilfoyle and her being. She reels them off in sequential order: "Stacy, Stephanie, Karin, Sean, Curt and the twins, Victoria and Vanessa." The oldest, Stacy, is 47 and a burgeoning fine artist of Hawaiian motifs. They are the seven children of the classic septuagenarian hoofer who performs in the chorus line of "long-legged lovelies" for the long-running Fabulous Palm Springs Follies. But wait. Add to her progeny ten grandchildren, from ages 20 to infancy, and again Glenda proudly recites and without a hitch: "Corey, Courtney, Brett, Connor, Maci, Ross, Shane, Kaitlyn, Gabrielle and, the newest one, Lilyana." She displays a...

Hundreds gathered in the Spa Casino's Cascade Room Friday, April 11, as VIPs sampled chefs' offerings and sipped examples of Chateau Montelena's vintages.
One of Montelena's vintages was a 1998 Chardonny. That year's late harvest and cooler vintage resulted in a fruit-flavor intensity. It is spicier than average, somewhat close to a Riesling. The color is golden with a hint of apple green.
It is a delight to the eye, nose, and palate.

Did anybody else see it? There were a few of the clouds hovering over the La Quinta, California, area Wednesday night that looked like UFOs.
I snapped a shot from my cell phone while at the stoplight at Washington St. and 50th Ave. in La Quinta, and sent it to my mother in New York all before the signal turned green, (isn't technology something?).
The cloud intrigued me, so I did a little research.
They are lenticular clouds, also known as altocumulus. Apparently we get them regularly here in the desert because of the mountains.
Various Web sites claim the clouds are "widely known" to be UFOs in disguise. Whatever you believe,...

My boss at Palm Springs Life, editor-in-chief Steven Biller, is a slave driver. I mean, the guy actually expects me to work on my own time!
He wants me to attend the Palm Springs Food and Wine Festival's VIP Event this Friday.
I had planned a quiet, intimate evening drinking whatever beer is on sale, dining on a frozen dinner and watching a rerun of Animal Planet.
Those exciting plans are now out the window.
Instead, I'm forced to rub shoulders with Spa Resort Casino Executive Chef Paul Woods and
