Pluto, we hardly knew ye

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end, Amen.

Schoolchildren have been forced to chant the 9-planet mantra since Pluto was discovered in 1930.

But now we have Xena, and all sorts of other pretenders to the Planetary Throne.

The International Astronomical Union starts meeting this week to either: (1) expand the number of planets in our solar system, or (2) relegate Pluto to the "D" List of non-planets.

Geez Louise. And I just finished memorizing the names of Pluto's new moons...
