Sturgeon Moon

According to Native American lore, every full moon has a special name.The tribes kept track of the seasons by giving a distinctive moniker to each recurring full moon.
Later tonight, the Sturgeon Moon will wax to its peak.
Why did this particular full moon get that name? Because the Great Lakes tribes fished for sturgeon in August.
Oh, shine on, shine on, Sturgeon Moon / Up in the sky
I ain't had no lovin' / Since January, February, June or July.
