WEEKEND!Tonight: Catch a free movie (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) at 7pm in Palm Desert's Civic Center Park Amphitheater at 73510 Fred Waring. "Charlie Bucket is a poor little boy who wins every young child's dream when he gets a chance to tour Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory." Don't miss Johnny Depp as Wonka - a performance that's been called "deliciously demented."

Friday: From 6pm-9, it's Cool Cars on a Hot Night at Wardman Park in Desert Hot Springs. Food, music and family entertainment at a car show sporting three categories of competition--cars, trucks and motorcycles--with awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each category. Impress everybody with the size of your engine. Vroom!

Saturday morning: Stop by the Idyllwild Farmers Market at the Town Hall from 9am-noon. Squeeze your favorite fruit.

Saturday afternoon: See the Live Butterfly Pavilion at Idyllwild Nature Center from 1pm-3:30. Join Joanna Stark and her butterfly friends for an hands-on experience. Squeeze your favorite... oh, wait. Better not.

Saturday evening: At 8pm, comedian Richard Jeni appears in "A Big Steaming Pile of Me" at Spotlight 29 Casino. Richard's #1 dating tip: "A pine-scented air freshener around your neck is no substitute for proper hygiene."

Sunday: From 10am-5pm, the Native American Arts Festival continues at the Moonridge Animal Park in Big Bear Lake. Animal storytelling, arts, crafts, songs and dances. Plus fried bread and tacos to eat! Fried bread. Excellent. It doesn't get much better than this...
