Tonight: It's another bountiful Thursday evening - you can choose between the Annenberg's free screening of Whisky at 5:30pm, or a free concert at 7:30pm in Palm Desert's Civic Center Park Amphitheater at 73510 Fred Waring. The featured band, Upstream, plays "rock influenced Raggae", among other styles. I'm told that Raggae is like Reggae, except bitchier. ;-)

Friday: At 7pm, the Rojer Arnold Band plays at Pappy & Harriet's in Pioneertown. After the recent wildfires, visiting the high desert has become our local version of Pyro Tourism.

Saturday morning: The CoD Street Fair runs from 7am-noon in Palm Desert. Need a birthday gift for mom or dad? I hear that vendors still have plenty of velvet Elvis paintings.

Saturday afternoon: From 11:30am-1pm, you could visit Urban Yoga to try an Eclectic Flow (Mixed Levels) class. I love it when they start chanting: "Yoga! Yoga! Yoga!" Oh wait, that's something else...

Saturday evening: At 7pm, the Summer Music Festival continues at Yucca Valley's Community Center Ballfield with Gregory Wolfe, performing a Rod Stewart tribute. In order to do what Rod the Bod (age 61) does, Gregory HAS to be quite a bit younger.

Sunday: At 9pm, Sidewinders presents the "Big Hair and High Heels Drag Review Extraordinaire," featuring The Delicious Divas, Bella da Ball, Lauren, Stephanie and Wild Ginger Snap, along with guest artist, Fabulina "Fabby" Marlow Marcus. Is it true that Fabby is getting flabby? Find out for yourself. (Don't tell her I said anything.)
