PSL 2005 AnnualDesert Publications Inc. (DPI) Receives 3 Pewter Awards in 2006 Gold Ink Competition

DPI was recognized with three Pewter Awards in the 2006 Gold Ink competition hosted by the North American Publishing Co. and Printing Impressions and Publishing Executive magazines.

DPI was recognized in the Specialty Magazine category for the 2005 Palm Springs Life Annual Desert Living edition and Pebble Beach: The Magazine (2005/2006 edition), both printed by RR Donnelley Mendota plant. In addition, Palm Desert Magazine (Fall 2005), printed by Colour Concepts Inc. in Riverside, was recognized in the Tabloid Magazine category.

"It is a significant honor for DPI to be acknowledged by this year's Gold Ink print production competition," said Richard Palmersheim, DPI's director of publications. "Our goal is to continually provide our readers with quality publications."

The Gold Ink Awards competition, now in its 19th year, has earned an industry-wide reputation for showcasing the highest quality of work from printing professionals throughout North America. This year's competition drew more than 1,500 entries. A panel of professionals adjudicates entries in 49 categories. Criteria for award-winning pieces included quality of printing, technical difficulty, and overall visual effectiveness.

DPI, based in Palm Springs, publishes Palm Springs Life and five regional GuestLife publications, and more than 20 other consumer and custom publications in the Coachella Valley and beyond. Pebble Beach: The Magazine is an annual lifestyle magazine produced for Pebble Beach Company, the guests of Pebble Beach Resorts, and local residents on the Monterey Peninsula.
