It's March and Time for Great Tennis!
The Pacific Life Open, the harbinger of spring, will soon be bringing tennis fans to the Indian Wells Tennis Garden for another thrill-packed event. This is the fifth most-attended tennis tournament in the world and features the top players on the ATP and WTA tours. Mark the dates, March10-23, 2008, and get your tickets early. Defending champions Rafael Nadal and Daniela Hantuchova will be there, joined by very strong fields for both the men's and women's draws. There may be a few wild card surprises. Roger Federer, still No. 1, will be looking to win and our Davis Cup heroes Andy Roddick and James Blake want to make an American presence felt. All the men's and women's semi-finalists from the Australian Open will compete and Novak Djokovic of Serbia, the Australian Open champion, will hope to make the finals again this year. Everyone will be welcoming Lindsay Davenport back to the Pacific Life Open after the birth of her first child. A great favorite here, winning two singles titles and six doubles titles. And is a rivalry in the works for Maria Sharapova and Daniela Hantuchova? Wait and see.
