Major expansion of the Coachella Valley Boxing Club approved

The City of Coachella, city council approved the allocation of land for the major expansion of the Coachella Valley Boxing Club.
Trainer Lee Espinoza stated, “Increased use by Coachella residents and growth in boxing membership requires the building be enlarged to twice the size as soon as possible."
The expansion will add 4,000 more square feet to the gym. The design firm of The Desert Group was selected to design and oversee the boxing club expansion.
The city council expansion approval came just days before the Fighting Diaz Brothers faced and beat opponents in strong victories. Julio Diaz was ranked #3 in the world, prior to his fight at Camp Pendleton in front of U.S. Navy and Marines returning from the Iraq war.
The Coachella Valley Boxing Club, under the guidance of its board of directors, is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all the youths in the Coachella Valley.
