RV motorhome: vacation lodge on wheels

According to a recent study of American vehicle-owning households, one in twelve now has a recreational vehicle. That's nearly seven million RVs. And many of those vehicles come to this valley for the winter.

Some RV resorts can be quite fancy, featuring swimming pools and miniature golf courses, along with state-of-the-art fitness and computer centers. The RVs themselves are sporting more features, too: washer/dryers, satellite dishes, back-up cameras, or even hot tubs. Many now have slideouts: at the touch of button, the slideout moves a portion of the RV's exterior outward as much as three or four feet, to enlarge the living area.

But I've saved the best news for last: the world land speed record for motorhomes is now 99.776 mph.
