The Easter Bowl Celebrates 40 Years!

The most famous national junior tennis championship in the country has become an American tradition. It will attract the top nationally ranked junior players in the 18, 16, and 14 age divisions. They will be coming from more than 45 states to compete in this prestigious event at Ranch Las Palmas Resort and Spa in Rancho Mirage, a major sponsor.
Since its debut in New York City in 1968, participants have included a who's who of all-time American greats, Connors, McEnroe, Sampras, Agassi, Roddick, Chang, Austin, Davenport, and Capriati. Founder and director Seena Hamilton brought the tournament to the desert in 1995. Through print media and her own TV special, the public is now more fully aware of the junior game, its issues, and the potential future stars. Almost every American in the Pacific Life Open is a former Easter Bowl star.
This year's matches will also be played at Palm Valley Country Club, Monterey Country Club, Palm Desert Resort, Indian Wells Tennis Garden, and Doral Desert Princess. Admission is free.
Mayor Dana Hobart of Rancho Mirage says, "I am delighted to welcome the Easter Bowl on behalf of the city. It's thrilling to know the Easter Bowl launched the careers of so many American stars. Perhaps the next one will be competing at Rancho Mirage this year."
