Pushcart + Caine Prize

Three of my colleagues at Francis Ford Coppola's Zoetrope Virtual Studio have received amazing news during the past few days:

On Saturday, blogger Kim Chinquee (who teaches creative writing at Central Michigan University) found out that she had won a coveted Pushcart Prize.

Yesterday, the UK's Guardian announced that Muthoni Garland and blogger Laila Lalami have been shortlisted for the prestigious Caine Prize in African Writing, an award won in 2002 by another of our ZVS colleagues, Binyavanga Wainaina.

Congratulations to all you wildly talented Zoetroupers!
