There will be plenty of noise coming from the building that once housed an auto paint shop.

Only this time it will be set to music.

Copa Palm Springs makes it official public opening Dec. 13 with plans for a grand opening in January.

As you enter the front door, you will walk down a glossy dark hallway, then around the bend you will see a very large U-shaped bar, the stage beyond and above, seating all around, and the ‘green room’ – a nicely lit VIP lounge in the corner, that is both sexy, and comfortable.

Housed next door to Tropicale Restaurant and owned by the same people, Copa has been in the making for nearly two years. Owners Ranz Wienert and Tony DiLembo are putting together the finishing touches on the nightclub/lounge with a pair of acts already booked.

Leslie Jordan, who was here in October for the California Equality Awards at Riviera Palm Springs, will perform “Unwrapped: Southern Holiday Stories” Dec. 19-21, followed by comedian Judy Tenuta with “Full Frontal Tenudity”, Dec. 27-28.

When it doesn’t have scheduled entertainment, Copa Palm Springs will create nights for a variety of music genres, including country, Latin, and music from the 1970s and ‘80s.
