Art Walk El Paseo begins Oct. 6, as galleries host monthly artist receptions from 5 to 9 p.m. El Paseo has become a popular destination for collectors of world-class art. Annika Sorenstam will play to defend her Samsung World Championship title Oct. 10-16 at Bighorn Golf Club in Palm Desert. The 25th annual event features the world’s top 20 players of the LPGA Tour. The schedule includes practice rounds on Monday and Tuesday, a pro-am on Wednesday, and championship rounds Thursday through Sunday.

Women Leaders Forum hosts its annual Leadership Academy 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Oct. 21 at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa in Indian Wells. The event offers leadership training to Coachella Valley women and honors Jackie Lee Houston, this year’s recipient of WLF’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
