Fashion designer Jim Mullin's debut at Fashion Week El Paseo March 20 will be one of many firsts for his JM Couture line.
In addition to showcasing five clothing styles ranging from evening gowns to swimwear, the fashion show serves as a preview of what customers will see in the new JM Couture store set to open soon on El Paseo.
While patrons of Fashion Week have come to expect the glitz and glamour of a runway show, customers at JM Couture will be able to experience a similar feeling. The store will have an actual runway for customers to walk down and see how the outfit looks on them, and there will be a photo booth and social media opportunities to let the world know of your latest look.
"We will have a lounge in the back so all of the dressing rooms feed out to the runway," Mullin says. "So if you're shopping with friends and you want to try on a bunch of dresses, we can have them all ready for you in the back, you can try them out, walk on the runway, get a thumbs up from your friends and post the photos to Facebook."
For the immediate future, Mullin is handling last-minute preparations to show 100 pieces at Fashion Week.
"I've never done a show that is quite this large with this many looks," Mullin says. "This is a big endeavor. I have a great team and we'll be presenting an amazing fashion show. I'm really excited about it."
