Tiffany Brooks of Antioch, Ill., has been selected as winner of HGTV Star competition, where the three finalists designed from scratch three grand suites at the Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage.

The final episode was shown July 21 and highlighted the work of all three finalists. Brooks designed the winning Agave Suite, while Jeribai Tascoe of Sonora, Calif., made his mark in the Brisa Suite and Brooks Atwood of Brooklyn, N.Y. worked on the Valencia Suite.

Each designer showcased his or her interpretation of mid-century modern design. Each redesign includes a sleeping area, work area and lounge area. As the winner, Brooks will receive a contract for her own show on HGTV after being picked by the judging panel of Genevieve Gorder, Sabrina Soto, Vern Yip and host David Bromstad.

Brooks’ winning design in the Agave Suite combines Classic Palm Springs with classy, cool and contemporary. Neutral, airy, aquatic colors perfectly accentuate the desert aesthetic embodying a laidback, sophisticated style indicative of the playful Palm Springs resort vibe. A truly soothing sanctuary that lets guests get away from it all.

Tascoe’s Brisa Suite is packed with personality and style, using fresh and vibrant colors with an ease of functionality and a mid-century modern motif. The rich hardwood texture and luxe fabrics envelope you in a modern and playful desert hideaway. The focal point of the suite’s dining room includes nine whimsical prints from SoCal painter and illustrator Josh “Shag” Agle, whose store adorns the Palm Springs Uptown Design District.

Atwood’s Valencia Suite introduced Palm Springs’ rich Hollywood history to today’s luxury-seeking traveler. Blending bits of the baroque with playful patterns and splashes of color, this suite boasts an incredibly rich, regal and elegant vibe.

“Palm Springs is known for impeccable design and our three new suites showcase the best style and innovation of our region,” said April Shute, general manager of Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa. “These glamorous and sophisticated suites, combined with the recent renovations, have truly taken the guest experience to the next level.”
