Horoscope August 2008

Call to Order

Sherryl Nova

Mars and Saturn align this month, and order is the keyword. Account for everything. Things in the air, not on paper, threaten extinction unless you supply the sweat equity. Make lists: pro and con, keep and throw away, commit and disengage. The little details in perfect order are the key to success. Get busy! For a personal reading, e-mail me at sherrylnova@aim.com.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
This is a month of new concepts about abundance, and whence it comes. It’s OK to expect results in your affairs, but it’s not OK to expect those results from specific sources. Just do the work, anticipating that it will be its own reward: Know that good will find you. To direct others properly, first do the job yourself.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Your dance card is more than full, and scheduling conflicts could be disastrous to your plans. Promise no one anything without a solid date in your calendar, and allow for last-minute options. Politely state that you will think about it. Give yourself time for analysis. Gather ye flowers while ye may, but wait to make the bouquet.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Can you get away sometime this month for a spiritual retreat? You need time, space, and quiet to make plans for the near future. While at the spa, peruse your address and e-mail list to weed out the unnecessary. Your image should be lean and hungry. Glow with the inner beauty of self-reliance. You won’t be alone long.

Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 21)
Friends will never be more important or more effective. You will attract the help you require through friendly yet impersonal relations with the public. As you reveal the plan to others, you build a power pyramid better than Amway. You have a job to do; gather the troops. Career restructuring is making viable progress. Exhale.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Keep your head while all around are losing theirs. Perhaps you have become too involved personally with a situation requiring a skeptical distance. Too much going on can make you ill. Separate the real from gauzy Hollywood. The law of magnetism says when you withdraw they will turn around and chase you. Test it.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
This is a good cycle for pregnancy and a great time to use the resources of an intimate partnership to create a new entity. We can be pregnant with an idea, a project, or an event. The closest alliances are explosive with potential, and out of nothing but desire an important new phase is beginning. Get rid of the unwanted.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
Usually upfront and outspoken, you would do yourself a great service by going underground for a while. Hide and watch, and soon an exciting venue is born of your own desire and creativity. You may attract silent partners who want you to be the front person. Secret meetings produce new avenues of satisfaction.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
It seems as if everything is an affront to your ego, but you are in a full-moon phase where everything is culminating, and it’s so easy to be emotionally reactive. However, that would waste a lot of precious time. Rather, confront and mitigate immediately. You’ll need the strength for the next battle. This is a test; you can do it!

Aries (March 21-April 19)
Imagine that you are a fine race car just pulling into the pit stop. Do you need tires, battery, fuel, and a tuneup? This is a great month to start a health regime, buy new clothes, change your image. Also, give a new vendor a chance to service you. You can get lucky by testing the unknown.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Go play with the kids, and let the child in you play. Allow yourself a carefree getaway, and strive for laughter and fun. Love is all there is, and the concerns of the world often move us far from love. A wise sage once said, “Joy is the infallible sign of the presence of God.” Seek joy, and trust the infinite. Know you are loved.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Emotional issues rear their ugly heads, and the butterfly is grounded by the weight. A healthy, objective analysis of the situation can lead to new concepts, but the feeling nature holds up progress. It’s a great time for serious self-examination and making conscious choices. Destroy in order to rebuild.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
A short trip sets up activity for the future with a positive spin. Business done from home by phone or e-mail is more intense than public meetings. Community service has many forms; your involvement is crucial to the success of an ideal. Reach out; make more initial contacts. Know that the right group is forming.
