Travel journalist Maggie Espinosa calls out eight Coachella Valley dog-friendly hotel properties in her new book, The Privileged Pooch; Luxury Travel With Your Pet in Southern California.

Espinosa describes the desert ambiance as reminiscent of a time when “hanging out by the pool was considered a full day” and notes that “it’s not uncommon to see a snout protruding from underneath many downtown bistro tables.”
