Ann and Nancy Wilson of the music group "Heart" perform in Rancho Mirage, while the Integratron in the Mojave Desert hosts a Perseid Meteor Shower Party.
Morgan's In The Desert hosts a choice of special three-course Prix-Fixe menus "from the farm direct to the table." Each course highlights ingredients when they are at the absolute, optimal peak of their growing and harvest season. This weekend only, Chef Jimmy Schmidt will prepare a menu based on L.A. Food & Wine At Its Best. Morgan's is located at the La Quinta Resort.

Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino hosts a U2 tribute for their Rock Yard Concert in Indio. The best and most accomplished cover bands in Southern California and the country’s most well known tribute bands take the stage every Saturday night for 5 straight hours of music beginning at 7 p.m.
Inside, jazz music performer Dianna Krall takes the stage beginning at 8 p.m. with her Summer Nights Tour. Krall has sold more than 6 million albums in the US and more than 15 million worldwide. She is the only jazz singer to have eight albums debuting at the top of the Billboard Jazz charts. She also has earned nine gold, three platinum, and seven multi-platinum albums.
In the sky, the Perseid Meteor Shower will streak across the Southern California skies. In the high desert, the Mojave Land Trust will host one of the biggest events to view this phenomenon at the Integratron in Landers. The Integratron is an icon to the Space Age, acoutically perfect and billed as a center for energy. Organizers say it's a perfect setting for this annual event.
PartyLab in Palm Springs throws a party Saturday night Burning Man-style. Starting at 7 p.m., the owners of the party supply-and-more store will get you ready for the real Burning Man Festival (which happens on August 27) with food and drink at their store on Indian Canyon Drive. "Come play! Come undone! "

The family will love the Palm Springs Art Museum as the doors open for Free Second Sundays. The event features live Performances, artist demonstrations, family activities and docent tours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m..
