Happy hour — a custom that came about during the Prohibition era — has remained a long-standing tradition of the laid-back, luxury Palm Springs lifestyle.

As the sun starts to descend over the San Jacinto Mountains, it’s time to fill the martini glasses across the Coachella Valley.

No longer just for “man,”  yappy hours at local restaurants, hotels, and resorts now invite your pooch to tag along.

Among them:

  • The Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa opens bar at 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays on the Fireside Lounge patio.
  • Oscar’s Café & Bar offers $2 mimosas and wholesome, healthy brunch for dogs from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays as part of My Perfect Pet’s “Dine With Your Dog” program.
  • Loving All Animals hosts a yappy hour monthly at the Gardens on El Paseo, in which donations and raffles benefit the organization.
