Art With Style
Salons double as Galleries
Dennis Ogas, Kimberly Nichols, and Ryan Campbell brought art to the walls of Ogas’ salon on El Paseo.

Walk into most any salon and you’ll see posters of beautiful models with long, thick, wavy locks or some other hairstyle that your own follicles won’t produce. It can be frustrating — even depressing.
Not so at DOS on El Paseo in Palm Desert. In October, a crowd filled the salon for a reception for collaborating artists Kimberly Nichols and Ryan Campbell. Owner Dennis Ogas feels the world needs more art in businesses such as his — not just in galleries. Karlie Luyando pointed to a pair of resin paintings over her workstation and said they’d inspired her as a stylist. “We’re artists too,” she noted.
Desert Art Source, which represents Cooper and Campbell, the duo’s collaborate art firm, also has installed art in the J. Russell Salon on El Paseo.
