Experience excellent and diverse offerings in April at Palm Springs Art Museum at no charge on April 8. “Free Second Sunday” includes activities, tours, and more from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Be sure to check out “Backyard Oasis: The Swimming Pool in Southern California Photography.” The museum also screens films inspired by the exhibition. “A Bigger Splash,” the award-winning documentary about artist David Hockney, runs April 12 at 6 p.m. at Annenberg Theater. No R.S.V.P. needed to this free screening — just show up and cool down. Snag some lovely loot April 10-22 at the annual museum store spring sale. Seekers of live performances will enjoy the Callaway Sisters in concert on April 7 at Annenberg Theater. Also at Annenberg are “Phantom’s Leading Ladies,” who perform April 14. Upright Cabaret shakes it up April 27 with “Rhythm in the Night,” celebrating the music of Ricky Martin, Gloria Estefan and Santana.
