Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in the desert region, which has a long legacy of supporting the golf lifestyle in Coachella Valley, is sponsoring the first-ever Desert Classic Charity Golf Tournament on April 30 at Indian Wells Country Club.

Coldwell Banker sponsored the annual American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) tournament in Rancho Mirage for the last eight years; and many agents participate in annual charity tournaments.

This year Coldwell Banker decided to take a “swing” at hosting its very own golf charity tournament for the first time. The event proceeds will benefit the Coldwell Banker Community Foundation, which contributes to a number of non-profit community organizations throughout the Coachella Valley, including the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, Salvation Army, Martha’s Village & Kitchen, Animal Samaritans, California Association of Realtors Scholarship Foundation, and others.

A $150 entry fee will include an afternoon of golf, complete with a cart, and a fun-filled evening dinner party at the clubhouse with live entertainment and silent and live auctions. Non-golfers are also welcome to attend and enjoy the dinner at a cost of $40.

Rick Jenkins, Regional Vice President of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Orange County and Desert Region, is challenging local companies to step up and become tournament sponsors. There are various corporate sponsorship levels, from $500 to $5,000, designed to increase businesses’ profiles in the community, while helping support the charity organizations that help so many.

“We are thrilled to be in a leadership position so we can host this special tournament this year,” Jenkins explains. “It proves that Coldwell Banker believes in the golf lifestyle just as much as any Coachella Valley resident. For us, it’s the perfect way to give back to our community and show our appreciation for the game.”
