Hip-Hop and Heartache

Coachella Music Festival

The Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals embossed Indio on the map several years ago.

Coachella Music and Arts Festival (www.coachella.com), which features popular genres, such as alternative rock, hip-hop, and electronica, draws huge crowds and sells out so fast that this year organizers added a second (identical) weekend. Taking place April 13-15 and April 20-22 at Empire Polo Grounds, Coachella’s headliners include The Black Keys, Radiohead, and Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg.

Stagecoach: California’s Country Music Festival (www.stagecoachfestival.com) rounds out the musical month (April 27-29). with headlining superstars Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, and Alabama.
