Thursday, April 25
2 p.m.: The Palm Springs Walk of Stars grows to 355 with the addition of Don Luster, a singer and songwriter who has made regular appearances in the Coachella Valley for 40 years. A special dedication ceremony is planned at 102 N. Palm Canyon Drive.

2 p.m.: Those amazing horses we see on Budweiser TV commercials are coming to the desert for a rare appearance on El Paseo in Palm Desert. The Clydesdales will be towing the famous red beer wagon from 2-4 p.m.

10 p.m.: Thursday nights at the Ace Hotel get the weekend off to a good start with DJ Day and his "Reunion" party in the Amigo Room featuring a mix of hip hop, funk, folk, house, dustup and disco.

Friday, April 26
All day: The music continues at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio with Stagecoach and an all-star lineup of country music stars anchored by Tony Keith, Lady Antebellum and Zac Brown Band.

All day: The 10th annual Scramble for Autism assists Coachella Valley kids. The fundraiser golf tournament takes place at the Indian Wells Country Club with tickets for dinner sold separately for non-golfers. Last year's scramble raised more than $100,000.

6-8 p.m.: This Friday night talk starts a three-day excursion of learning about the birds of Joshua Tree National Park. College of the Desert professor Kurt Leuschner will introduce you to 240 species. Saturday and Sunday take you outdoors to see what he's been talking about. Make sure you're up to the exercise level.

6-10 p.m.: Silica Studios in Palm Springs marks its 10th anniversary with an artist's reception Friday and and Open Studio Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (April 27-28).

8 p.m.: Just because some of these bands are no longer around doesn't mean you can't still enjoy their music in a live venue. Spotlight 29 Casino in Indio is offering a series of free Friday night tribute band concerts. This week's features Creedence Clearwater Revival's music.

7:30 p.m.: "Tru", a play on author Truman Capote, is set in his New York apartment where he lives in exile from his Manhattan social circle. A Coyote Stageworks production at the Palm Springs Art Museum's Annenberg Theater. Runs on select dates through April 28.

8 p.m.: "Give me a head with hair. Long beautiful hair!" The musical dating back to the late 1960s, "Hair" is still impacting audiences this time at Palm Canyon Theatre in Palm Springs with weekend performances (April 26-28).

Dinner suggestion: Try a relatively new place in town - Bar, located on Palm Canyon Drive just north of Amado in Palm Springs. Serves up good nosh food like a tuna melt, grilled cheese, BLT and spring rolls.

Saturday, April 27
All day: The music continues at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio with Stagecoach and an all-star lineup of country music stars anchored by Tony Keith, Lady Antebellum and Zac Brown Band.

9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.: The Open Market Street Fair has been reduced to one day, but still has plenty to offer located on Calle Encilia across from the Spa Resort Casino parking lot.

11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: The iconic figure of "Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires", Smokey the Bear visits the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.

11 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Featuring Oscar winning actress Margaret O'Brien as honorary chair, the inaugural Tea and Fashion Show benefits the Desert Friends of the Developmentally Disabled. Professional models as well as those from the DFDD special community.

11 a.m.: Explore the inner artist in you. You have a multitude of chances available to participate in the Art Party Palm Desert at the Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Desert. From a screen printing demonstration to clay sculpturing to listening to music from members of the Coachella Valley Symphony and Buddy Rogers Youth Symphony.

1 p.m.: American Air Races and Speed Supremacy is the untold story of how pilots who raced planes helped speed the development of aviation. Hear from author Michael Gough at the Palm Springs Air Museum.

7:30 p.m.: Jonny McGovern of the Logo Channel's "Big Gay Sketch Show", Comedy Central's "Out on the Edge" and Showtime's Gloria Bigelow from "Fierce Funny Women" head Comedy Night at Azul on Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs.

8 p.m.: "Born This Way" featuring a premiere of Metamorphosis leads this musical odyssey by the Palm Springs Gay Men's Chorus. The spring show plays again at 3 p.m. Sunday - both at Palm Springs High School's auditorium. Read our story.

7 & 9 p.m.: Kenny Loggins and Blue Sky Riders kick off a double feature at Pappy & Harriet's Pioneertown Palace. Mother Hips from San Francisco will groove and move you in the late show. Loggins and Blue Sky Riders will also perform Sunday (April 28) at Stagecoach.

Dinner suggestion: Venue Sushi and Sake Lounge in Palm Desert. Great ambiance, and plenty of choices in surf, turf and drinks.

Forever Marilyn in Palm Springs

Sunday, April 28
All day: The music continues at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio with Stagecoach and an all-star lineup of country music stars anchored by Tony Keith, Lady Antebellum and Zac Brown Band.

Noon-1:30 p.m.: The Forever Marilyn statue will be in town through the summer, but before she departs, a host of activities are planned where she stands at the corner of Palm Canyon Drive and Tahquitz Canyon. The Golden West Pops, an adult community concert band base in Orange County, will perform big band hits Sunday.

1:30 p.m.: The Palm Springs Follies runs through May 19 before going dark for the summer. Special guest Lesley Gore will sing her No. 1 hit from the 1960s, "It's My Party". The musical revue is a delight with a cast ranging in age from 54 to 83.

Brunch suggestion: Jake's in Palm Springs. A stellar restaurant in the Uptown Design District delivers eggs, choice sandwiches and some amazing salad creations.

Happy Birthday to La Quinta
