The Desert Cancer Foundation's A Round For Life has raised more than $400,000 at the 20th Anniversary of the events held March 30-31.
This year the event included, for the first time, a Pro Am with 31 valley pros participating in support of the mission of Desert Cancer Foundation to provide life-saving medical assistance to Coachella Valley residents who can't afford to pay for their cancer treatments.
In addition, there was a Ladies Invitational nine-hole golf tournament the day before the main event that benefitted the Suzanne Jackson Breast Cancer Fund.
The Sunday evening Jubilee Gala, a sell-out of 300 seats, was a silent and live auction cocktail and dinner party hosted by Fritz Coleman, comedian and Southern California NBC weathercaster.
The gala auction items and other prizes from the tournaments featured a trip to anywhere in the world, a luxury trip to Las Vegas for three days and two nights with golf and a personal fitting for four at a TaylorMade facility, a private yacht for six with crew and a chef for a two-day cruise and fishing trip off San Diego, custom interlocking paving stones from Farley Pavers, and a solar system from Hot Purple Energy.
For 20 years, Indian Ridge Country Club has donated both Arnold Palmer courses and the clubhouse for A Round for Life. Actively involved club members have underwritten the cost for two decades.
