Desert Concorso's inaugural splash March 30 at the Shadow Mountain Golf Club in Palm Desert brought more than 100 sports car owners from across Southern California much to the delight of onlookers.

They were treated to a cross-section of cars bent on satisfying the need for speed with sleek designs.

Some brought back memories while others created the vicarious pleasure of seeing yourself in the driver's seat.

Despite a morning wind storm that created a dust covering, the event included a fashion show by SheShe on El Paseo in palm Desert, a performance by the International Opera Institute, a Dean Martin tribute by Paul Elia, presentations by Desert European, Riverside International Automotive Museum and Pagani Automobili, plus interviews with car owners and personalities from Mercedes Benz Classic, Superperformance, Palm Springs Fiat, Lamborghini Newport Beach and Desert Arc.
