While Cinco de Mayo is officially May 5, the party will be underway well before then.

Here is a roundup of some places featuring special Cinco de Mayo offerings.

Tacos & Tequila at Morongo Casino, Resort and Spa: A three-day fiesta runs May 2-4 with food and drink specials. Fiesta-goers may enjoy Chef Saul Ortiz’s menu complete with $5 items including: mild, medium or hot guacamole; flautas with the choice of shredded beef or chicken, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole and crema fresca; queso fundido dip with a melted cheese blend, chorizo and chile morita salsa and T&T’s signature house-made margarita.

Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, Indio: The Fresh Grill Buffet will serve up a traditional Mexican lunch and dinner May 5 with specialties like shrimp fajitas, chocken mole poblano, file of sole con fruta salsa fresca and more. Six-time Grammy winning artist Pepe Aguilar starts the weekend off by taking the stage May 2.

Tilted Kilt in Palm Desert: Labled as one of the “wildest” Cinco de Mayo weekend parties, the FE5T runs May 3 with two dance floors, two full bars and music from Latin to Hip Hop to Top 40.

City of Coachella: May 3 at Veterans Park is where everything happens starting with a 5-kilometer run/walk followed by a salsa contest and tasting with a $1,000 cash prize.

Don Diego’s in Indian Wells: Three days of food and festivities starting May 3. The pre-Cinco party runs May 3-4 from 3-9 p.m. and free T-shirts to the first 300 customers. There will be a daily tequila tasting from 4-6 p.m., live music, a photo booth and drink and food specials.

The City of Riverside conducts one of the oldest Cinco de Mayo celebrations with its 107th parade and fiesta. The day runs 9 am. to 9 p.m. with a parade, bands, dancers, food, games, and arts and crafts vendors.

Spotlight 29 Casino in Coachella: On May 5, the Cinco de Mayo Happy Hour runs all day and features $2 Margaritas, $3 16-ounce Chabelas, and $3 16-ounce Rolling Rock Draft.
