Where to Celebrate Cinco De Mayo in Palm Springs Area

Riverside hosts 107th annual parade, fiesta

While Cinco de Mayo is officially May 5, the party will be underway well before then.

Here is a roundup of some places featuring special Cinco de Mayo offerings.

Tacos & Tequila at Morongo Casino, Resort and Spa: A three-day fiesta runs May 2-4 with food and drink specials. Fiesta-goers may enjoy Chef Saul Ortiz’s menu complete with $5 items including: mild, medium or hot guacamole; flautas with the choice of shredded beef or chicken, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole and crema fresca; queso fundido dip with a melted cheese blend, chorizo and chile morita salsa and T&T’s signature house-made margarita.

Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, Indio: The Fresh Grill Buffet will serve up a traditional Mexican lunch and dinner May 5 with specialties like shrimp fajitas, chocken mole poblano, file of sole con fruta salsa fresca and more. Six-time Grammy winning artist Pepe Aguilar starts the weekend off by taking the stage May 2.

Tilted Kilt in Palm Desert: Labled as one of the “wildest” Cinco de Mayo weekend parties, the FE5T runs May 3 with two dance floors, two full bars and music from Latin to Hip Hop to Top 40.

City of Coachella: May 3 at Veterans Park is where everything happens starting with a 5-kilometer run/walk followed by a salsa contest and tasting with a $1,000 cash prize.

Don Diego’s in Indian Wells: Three days of food and festivities starting May 3. The pre-Cinco party runs May 3-4 from 3-9 p.m. and free T-shirts to the first 300 customers. There will be a daily tequila tasting from 4-6 p.m., live music, a photo booth and drink and food specials.

The City of Riverside conducts one of the oldest Cinco de Mayo celebrations with its 107th parade and fiesta. The day runs 9 am. to 9 p.m. with a parade, bands, dancers, food, games, and arts and crafts vendors.

Spotlight 29 Casino in Coachella: On May 5, the Cinco de Mayo Happy Hour runs all day and features $2 Margaritas, $3 16-ounce Chabelas, and $3 16-ounce Rolling Rock Draft.
