Dubbed Millennium Palm Desert, GHA Companies will develop a new, 152-acre mixed-use lifestyle community between Portola Road and Cook Street.

“Over the past three decades, GHA Companies has been responsible for a range of quality developments throughout the Coachella Valley, from residential projects like Montage at Mission Hills in Rancho Mirage, Campanile in Cathedral City, and Encore and Venezia in Palm Desert,” says GHA Companies President Mario Gonzales. “GHA also consistently donates labor, materials, and time to Habitat for Humanity and various organizations throughout the desert.”

“This project presented a unique opportunity,” adds Gonzales. “Take a large piece of land in a very key location in the city and create a sustainable, multi-generational village where you can own a home or rent an apartment, shop, dine, work, or own a business.”

The entire Millennium Palm Desert complex, which will eventually consist of retail stores and a business park, could take four to five years or longer to be built, according to Gonzales.

But Genesis, a residential component featuring 166 terraced, single-family homes, is slated to break ground in June with the first residences available in the fall of 2015.

Genesis will feature three separate series of homes and a total of nine plans. The Millennia series homes range from 1,654 to 1,953 square feet, the Core series range from 1,865 to 2,301 square feet, and the Tesla series will range from 2,246 to 2,590 square feet. The homes’ lots range between 3,800 to 7,200 square feet.

Gonzales says the detached homes will include upscale features, innovative designs, and private yards.

“The homes will be true to their Spanish, Midcentury, Prairie, and contemporary inspirations, from façade details to window style to landscape design,” he adds. “Interior features will offer indoor/outdoor floor plans, single and two-story options, extensive tile flooring, detached casitas, large garages, quality cabinets, appliances and plumbing features provided by GHA.”

The homes will also include solar, tankless water heaters, smart car electric chargers, radiant barrier roofing materials, and drought-tolerant landscape design.

The gated community of homes will be governed by an HOA.

“We have designed our project to meet the demands of most buyer profiles in today’s market, from first-time buyers to upscale buyers. There will also be opportunities to rent within the Millennium project, which makes it unique,” says Gonzales.
