June Thursday Movie of the Week at The Mizell Senior Center in Palm Springs

Mizell Weekly Movies in June are  featuring Elvis Presley in such classics as Viva Las Vegas and Blue Hawaii. Movie of the Week is every Thursday at 10:00AM. The Movies are free ... and so is the popcorn!!  Come on down and enjoy a movie...and have a delicious lunch afterwards. This is a great way to catch-up on some classic movies of a by-gone and simpler era and stay cool as the warmer summer months are just ahead.

* June 20th: Love Me Tender
Elvis Presley made the transition from vinyl to celluloid in this tragic western. Young Texas farmhand Clint (Presley) is spared participation in the American Civil War because of his age, but his older brother, Vance, goes off to battle. When a report indicates Vance has been killed, Clint asks Vance's sweetheart, Cathy, to marry him. But the report turns out to be wrong, and Vance returns, dismayed by Clint and Cathy's union.

* June 27th: Blue Hawaii
Chad Gates just wants to sing, chase girls and have fun. Chad's mom, however, wants her ex-soldier son to come work in the family pineapple business. But Chad is too busy catching up with his buddies, making up with his girlfriend and singing.
