We can’t state with certainty exactly when Mother Nature will dust, drop, or plop snow over the local mountains. However, with fingers crossed, we look forward to enjoying a little sledding, snowman building, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing on Mt. San Jacinto this month.
The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway takes passengers from the desert floor up through Chino Canyon and lets them off at an elevation where winter takes a decidedly “undesert” turn. The Adventure Center rents skis and snowshoes and the mountain gift shop sells sleds, so you should be well equipped for whatever conditions you find. One Tramway Road, Palm Springs. 1-760-325-1449
