Thursday, Dec. 20
If you have never associated winter with pomegranate's, then you haven't lived in California for very long. That would be me. Morgan's in the Desert at La Quinta Resort is offering patrons a chance to try their Pomegranate Tasting Menu through Dec. 24.

Discover local artists who live within blocks of the La Quinta Museum, where 34 and their works are featured through Dec. 22. The amount and level of local talent in the valley is amazing.

Friday, Dec. 21
The end of the world? Oh yes, that is today. What was I thinking. Celebrate the end of the Mayan calendar with a fun exhibit at  6 p.m. at the Stephen Archdeacon Gallery in Palm Springs featuring the artwork of Eric Nash. Not to be outdone. Zin American Bistro is offering an End of the World Wine Dinner with three seatings starting at 7:30 p.m.

Every Christmas Story Ever Told. Three actors perform every Christmas story ever told in one night. No Christmas movie or TV special is spared. Runs Dec. 21-23 at the Annenberg Theater.

Brought back to its 1950s splendor when it was the hangout for Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack, The Purple Room inside the Club Trinidad Resort in Palm Springs hosts the Darci Daniels Band from 8 p.m. to midnight. A Palm Springs High School grad, Daniels has been a Las Vegas mainstay among lounge acts.

Saturday, Dec. 22
Inaugural Santa Paws 5K. Might be a tad chilly at 8 a.m., but you'll warm up soon enough and it's a good cause benefiting Guide Dogs of the Desert. Plus, you get to dress up as Santa when you participate and there are milk and cookies waiting at the finish line!

City of Indio Weekly Open Air Market. Head out to the Riverside County Fairgrounds from 4-10 p.m. for some last-minute holiday shopping.

Holiday concert at The Joslyn Center in Palm Desert. The second of two holiday concerts (the first is Friday night) feature Bonnie Bowden at 7 p.m. in the Arthur Newman Theatre.

Sunday, Dec. 23
Sunday Brunch at Augusta Restaurant on El Paseo. Relax and eat up at this amazing spread in Palm Desert. Open 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

"Bob Hope: An American Treasure". This traveling exhibit highlights the Palm Springs icon's life in the desert and his love for the game of golf at the Palm Springs Air Museum. Runs through April 30, 2013.  

Take a Drive
Cellarz93 Winehouse in Temecula will host a special Christmas concert featuring multi-platinum artist and Grammy award winner Bryan Duncan, who is a contemporary gospel recording artist. His career has spanned 30 years and 23 album. Arrive at 6:30 p.m. and meet Bryan. Concert runs 7-9 p.m.
