From elegant ballets and soaring chorales to live theater, it’s easy to find your holiday magic in the Coachella Valley.

Experience the season in true Palm Springs style with Frank, Dino, Sammy, and the gang in Someday at Christmas With Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack. The toe-tapping show, featuring classics by songwriter Ron Miller, hits McCallum Theatre on Dec. 14-15.

The McCallum celebrates the holidays all month, with Jazz/acoustic guitar favorite Peter White leads an all-star lineup Dec. 19, featuring Rick Braun and Mindi Abair, and the Desert Symphony offers traditional fare on Dec. 20.

Get on your feet for a rousing rendition of Messiah Dec. 18 and 22 at Indian Wells Theater. Handel-ing the Holidays features 30 minutes from G.F. Handel’s best-known work with four soloists and five choruses, plus carols and Broadway tunes. 37500 Cook St., Palm Desert.

Rediscover the magic of Christmas as Clara dreams of mice, sugar plums, and a prince at three separate performances of The Nutcracker in the Coachella Valley. McCallum Theatre welcomes the Moscow Classical Ballet on Dec. 18 for its annual family-friendly presentation.

The Moscow Ballet Great Russian Nutcracker is set for Dec. 20 at The Show at Agua Caliente Casino • Resort • Spa.

And don’t forget the “long-legged lovelies” at the Fabulous Palm Springs Follies. The Last Hurrah! marks the final holiday shows for this legendary revue. Throughout December, the Follies’ Yuletide galas feature falling snowflakes, candy-cane girls, dancing penguins, and a Hanukkah bear. New Year’s Eve shows usher in 2014 with drinks and goodies.

The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told touches on the Nativity and Christmas Eve miracles. The show runs through Dec. 22 and promises “wild and witty comedy that looks at love and faith, and the meaning of life" at The Desert Rose Playhouse in Rancho Mirage.

The Story of My Life, Dec. 4-22, follows the lifelong friendship of two men who relate their experiences through song and dance, concluding (in true holiday style) that love is the base of true friendship at the Coachella Valley Repertory Theater in Rancho Mirage.

For a one-of-a-kind live act, catch the Charles Phoenix Retro Holiday Slide Show on Dec. 20 at the Annenberg Theater. The pop culture humorist brings kitschy comedy to a midcentury family slide show, with side riffs on famous local sites and “found” holiday slides.
