The 26th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) has partnered with sponsors Alaska Airlines and Vacation Palm Springs to launch two travel contests inviting festival goers to “Go Away” and “Come Back.”

The contests will be open prior to and during the 2015 festival, which runs Jan. 2-12.

Alaska Airlines, the Official Airline of the 2015 Festival, invites you to “Go Away,” offering an exciting Mexican Getaway Contest. The winner will receive two coach-class tickets to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico along with a three-night stay at one of Cabo’s most distinguished hotels, the Fiesta Americana Grand Los Cabos All-Inclusive Golf & Spa.

Vacation Palm Springs, the Festival’s Official Vacation Rental Partner, invites you to “Come Back,” offering a 2016 PSIFF Dream Vacation Palm Springs Contest. One winner will be given the keys to a luxury three-bedroom vacation rental home for a four-night stay for up to four people. Included in the package are four tickets to the festival’s opening and closing night screenings and receptions and four festival screening passes.

The festival has brought thousands of visitors to Palm Springs every January for more than a quarter of a century, which has benefited the tourist economy exponentially. A 2014 post-festival survey indicated that of the 135,000+ festival attendees:

• 71 percent do not reside in the Coachella Valley full-time, which is up from 68.5 percent in 2011.

• Nearly 30 percent fly into Palm Springs, up from 26 percent in 2011.

• 33 percent of non-resident attendees chose to stay in a vacation rental; this information was not requested in our survey in 2011.
