The Coachella Valley's Pioneering, Award-Winning Microbrewery.

While the craft beer movement seems like a relatively recent phenomenon, Babe's Bar-B-Que & Brewhouse has been consistently creating award-winning brews in the Coachella Valley for the last 14 years. Dubbed "the Pride of Rancho Mirage," Babe's is the desert's oldest craft microbrewery. It has garnered more than 30 medals and was recently awarded 2015 "Brewery of the Year" by California State Fair besting 300 breweries.

Their list of award-winning beers includes the Blackfin Lager, Honey Blonde Ale, Palm Springs IPA, and the hugely popular Belgian Vanilla Blonde Ale, which won Silver at the 2014 Great American Beer Festival and Gold at the 2015 U.S. Open Beer Championship.

For a great night out, pair these well-crafted brews with Babe's hearty fare. The chargrilled steaks and behemoth sandwiches are local crowd pleasers. The steaks, when served "house-style," receive a Memphis-style rub and a light coat of Babe's original barbecue sauce. No matter the choice, add a small-plate sampler of the outrageously tasty Boneless Beef Short Ribs and indulge in a DC's Homemade Rustic Rhubarb Pie. There are special beer and top shelf promotions on Monday and Tuesday nights in the fun, casual Cheers-like gastropub concept. You can choose to carry your pint indoors or outdoors and hang out with your favorite furry friend on the fire pit patio.

After Prohibition ended, only about 300 breweries survived to renew their brewing in the United States. There are now approximately 2,456 small and independent craft brewers nationwide.
