This text will be replaced Four-Star Cuisine For All OccasionsBy Pamela Bieri The name Spencer's is synonymous with Palm Springs’ classic style. Its awe-inspiring location at the foot of Mt. San Jacinto has retained an historically significant midcentury charm inside and out. The ambiance offers stylish elegance and comfortable informality. The air-cooled, treeshaded patio is legendary, and stunning surroundings are matched by culinary excellence. Spencer’s is this year’s winner of six major awards: Best Outdoor Dining, Best Brunch, Best Chef, Best Continental (American) Restaurant, Best Caterer, and the only Palm Springs restaurant to win the prestigious Wine Spectator “Award of Excellence” for its extensive wine cellar. Named after owner Harold Matzner’s award-winning, 110-pound Siberian husky, Spencer’s is very pet-friendly. Multiple award-winning chef and cookbook author Eric Wadlund brings decades of experience as executive chef and director of operations. His credentials include a tour of America’s finest four-star restaurants: Azur by Le Bernardin, The Occidental, Rattlesnake, and Terra Cotta. Chef Wadlund, Executive Sous Chef David Sanchez, and a seasoned culinary staff led by Restaurant Manager Julieta Quinn aim to please guests with contemporary and classic cuisine that customers have come to cherish. Spencer’s is also very well known for its expansive menu. By day, Spencer’s is “the” place to see and be seen for lunch, where power brokers make deals while visitors soak up the atmosphere.
