Daniel Placencia, a rancher and cowboy, is proud of his cooking and loves feeding people. “People are the happiest when they're eating, especially good food,” Placencia said.
He has entered his homemade chili, chock-full of meat and fresh peppers, in local cook-offs, including those at Stagecoach: California's Country Music Festival and the Coachella Valley Fiesta of Chilies.
Last October, Placencia decided to make his cooking available to all local residents by opening up The Cowboy Way, a barbecue restaurant at 317 N. Indian Canyon Drive.
Since opening, he said he runs the restaurant like home by never letting his customers leave hungry and treating his employees like family.
