Embrace the Excitement of Vintage and Classic Cars
Works of art roll into town this month for a multiday celebration of classic and vintage automobiles. The Rancho Mirage Desert Classic Concours d’Elegance, presented by the City of Rancho Mirage and Palm Springs Life, features more than 200 rarely seen classic autos from museums and private collections. Der Spiegel magazine crowned the coveted event one of the top 10 classic car shows in the world.
The main event unfolds Feb. 25-26 on the beautiful grounds of Westin Mission Hills Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage. View vintage and classic vehicles and partake in a bountiful selection of quality vendors, food, beverages, music, and exhibit areas displaying collectible jewelry, watches, and art. On Saturday, watch 100-plus vintage automobiles leave the Westin Mission Hills on a tour of the East Valley, traveling from Rancho Mirage to Salton Sea and back. The following day presents the Checkered Flag 200 club, from the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, and their stunning assortment of vehicles.
Additional motorsports events include the Desert Classic Concours Vintage and Historic Race at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway Feb. 17-19. The Desert Concours d’Elegance promises a thrilling mélange for lovers of the lifestyle. Visit www.desertconcours.com or www.palmspringslife.com for tickets and information.
