This is the week to get out and explore the greater Coachella Valley area.

Besides the attractions of Modernism Week, which starts Feb. 13, the high desert communities of Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree, and 29 Palms are marking the 10th annual Reach Out Morongo Basin self-guided tour of six distinct properties Feb. 16.

Reach Out Morongo Basin is a nonprofit organization providing services to local seniors and disabled neighbors throughout the Morongo Basin.

The tour ranges from a home that showcases antique collectibles and local art, to an artist compound of repurposed and performance artworks, to a home that is an artistic masterpiece of tile and glass mosaics. The event also brings in local musical talent by the band Celtic Curse.
