The Old Ranch Inn is a laid-back boutique hotel offering hospitality in the “spirit of the Old West” located on what was the McCallum Ranch in Palm Springs' historic Tennis Club neighborhood.

Within walking distance of downtown, it offers relaxed comfort with personalized service and technology to meet every individual's needs. Private, secure grounds, and gates provide a charming, familiar feel.

Experience the relaxed atmosphere of the Old West at the Old Ranch Inn.

Lush palms and greenery gently hug the eight large suites surrounding the sparkling pool. Two French doors with translucent white curtains fluttering in the breeze lead into each suite, all equipped with a kitchenette, microwave, wet bar, refrigerator, coffee maker and toaster. Semi-private back patios offer a chance to wind down among the greenery with a bottle of wine or an iced tea after a long day in the desert sun.

Some suites have fireplaces. All have large, modern bathrooms where you can enjoy a cool shower and wrap yourself in a plush white towel. Then relax in the calming, earth tones of the old West in your suite.

Plenty of Western memorabilia in the Old Ranch office. Make sure to read the titles of the liquor bottles.

Open the French doors just a touch for an evening breeze and view of the pool lights. Sit by the outdoor patio fire pit. Take an evening swim in the heated pool or drift on one of the floats. Enjoy their outdoor eating area, and Starbucks Coffee, tea and whole fruits in the morning.

Take a walk around the the Old Ranch Inn's neighborhood. It's an 8-minute walk to the Palm Springs Art Museum, 6 minutes to the restaurants and shops of Palm Canyon Drive, and about 10 minutes to the Skyline Trail for spectacular hikes in the foothills. Throughout the surrounding streets, you can see places of historical Hollywood note, such as Gloria Swanson's home, and Le Vallauris, the restaurant once patronized by Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, Albert Einstein, among other famous faces.

Dr. Larry L. Pilcher, general partner, can often be found behind the desk in the office. A longtime resident of Palm Springs and board member of the Small Hotels of Palm Springs, he has a plethora of information about the surroundings from restaurants to history to personal anecdotes.

“I say goodbye to many guests and they say to me, 'Same time! Next year!' We've seen them year after year,” Pilcher says.

In its earlier days, the Old Ranch Inn was known as the Silver Palms.
