Once former guests of the Orbit In, Kevin Miller and his wife, Jinny Park, took their enthusiasm for the Palm Springs property and became its owner in 2007.

Built in classic midcentury modern courtyard style by Herbert Burns, the builder/designer who brought the “ultra-modern motor court inn” to Palm Springs, the Orbit In started out as the “Village Manor” in 1957.

The famed “Orbitini” waits for you overlooking the pool and the palms at the Orbit In.

Miller says The Orbit In “was restored by a top local architectural firm and retains many of its original features, including built-in wall clocks in the rooms and Vintage Dwyer metal kitchens. Even the furnishings are authentic collectibles, including many vintage bedside lamps.”

The Frey Lounge, Room 108, honors Palm Springs architect Albert Frey – one of nine rooms to choose from. The outdoor shower on the rear patio gives a majestic view of Frey House II, while photos by architectural photographer Julius Shulman hang on the interior walls. The Orbit In was Shulman's preferred place to stay in Palm Springs.

The Frey Lounge, Room 108, favorite hangout of famed architectural photographer Julius Shulman, features its own fireplace and outdoor shower.

The Orbit In was among the first inns to offer a complimentary “Orbitini” cocktail and wine hour. Sip a famed “Orbitini” at the Boomerang Bar overlooking the placid, saltwater pool. Its built in chiller keeps the pool a refreshing 85 degrees year round.

Kevin and Jinny are often the ones pouring drinks and entertaining guests. Many guests interact and compare the day's activities. After cocktails, throw on a luxurious robe, and enjoy a night soak in the saltwater spa accompanied by a lava rock fire pit.

Plenty of “eye candy” art at the Orbit In. Even Dino likes it…

Make sure to stop by the office to see the display case of vintage items and cruise the DVD, game, and record stacks for an in-room entertainment night. If you want to cruise the streets of Palm Springs, complimentary daytime use of bikes is available. Mornings include a delicious continental breakfast and coffee.

The Orbit In is nestled in the famed Tennis Club District of Palm Springs, near to restaurants and shops. Its views of the San Jacinto mountains are gorgeous.
Hotel Essential: There is usually a waiting list for each room and it's not hard to see why. Managers Elaine Castillo and Bill Manion add to the Orbit’s golden hospitality.
