Two economic experts, Esmael Adibi and Christopher Thornberg, will be the keynote speakers at Coachella Invest 2014, Feb. 5-6, at Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa in Rancho Mirage.

On Feb. 5, Adibi and Thornberg will present information on financial markets and regional economics specific to the area, along with their 2014 economic forecast. In addition, local experts will provide insight on office, industrial, retail, land, and real estate investments overall.

The presentation is part of the 10th annual Commercial Real Estate Investor Forum & Economic Forecast presented by The Desert Area Commercial Information Exchange. The opening day includes an exhibit hall featuring 50 exhibitors representing the largest global financial services groups as well as local commercial real estate entities, property management and landscaping firms.

On Feb. 6, local investor-oriented bus tours of the Coachella Valley will be offered plus an exclusive Bighorn Golf Club Invitational outing during the afternoon.

Thornberg is founding partner of Beacon Economics, LLC and widely considered to be one of California's leading economists. An expert in economic forecasting, regional economics, employment and labor markets, economic policy, and industry and real estate analysis, he was one of the earliest and most accurate predictors of the subprime mortgage market crash that began in 2007, and of the global economic recession that followed.

Adibi (above right) is the director of the A. Gary Anderson Center for Economic Research and Anderson Chair of Economic Analysis at Chapman University. His specialty areas include macroeconomics, financial markets, and regional economics. He has co-authored two textbooks: Econometric Analysis - An Applications Approach, and The Practice of Econometrics with EViews.
