If you’ve always wondered what that family china or oil on canvas is worth, the La Quinta Museum is providing the perfect opportunity from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 11.
The museum has recruited appraisal authority Timothy Gordon to help evaluate all your treasures during this first-time event.
“In La Quinta I'm hoping to see rare, monetarily and historically valuable items,” says Gordon. “I love history and historical items, fine paintings and 20th century decorative arts—Tiffany, Cartier—old and valuable books, movie memorabilia, military history, and Native Americana.”
There’s an element of discovery happening at live appraisal event.
“People will live with items for generations and not know the historical significance or value,” says Gordon.
So, spruce up your attic or garage and head down to the museum, as you might have a lottery ticket in your possession. Gordon came across a Dutch Old Master painting during a live appraisal event — now it's in the National Gallery!
